![]() "/home/biscotti/.local/steam_program_files/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher/UbisoftConnect.exe"įinally after running Ubisoft Connect, I needed to tell it where to find the Anno 1800 game I'd already installed. ![]() Now edit the path of the launcher in Steam, to use the symlinked version. I ended up creating a symbolic link /home/biscotti/.local/steam_program_files which points to ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/564376547/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86) The rest of the path, ie Files (x86)/Ubisoft etc etc was being incorrectly passed as an argument. Steam wasnt parsing the full path properly, so it was truncating it at /drive_c/Program, even though the path was surrounded by "double quotes". I must be missing something pretty obvious.įIXED for anyone else with same problem. ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/564376547/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher/games/Anno 1800/Bin/Win64/Anno1800.exe ![]() I've also tried adding what appears to be the Anno binary, but this just launches the Anno installer. It should just install the ubisoft connect client and the game, on older versions of assassins creed I had an issue where (on a fresh new install) the common redistributables were not installed, some games will install this for you but some dont. ![]() This launches ok, but then doesn't detect Anno 1800, so wants me to reinstall it. ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/564376547/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher/UbisoftConnect.exe I've tried adding a new non-steam game with the installed version of Ubisoft Connect, in my case the path is. Now Im trying to figure out how to launch it again, since the entry I added to Steam just points to the Ubisoft installer, and not the binary it installed first time round Installation was a breeze, so I then installed Anno 1800, and played it for a little while. I added the Ubisoft Connect installer as a non steam game, and set it to use Proton Experimental.
